Hielscher Throws at Augustana
ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's track & field team had Maya Hielscher compete at the Augustana Midwest Twilight Qualifier on Wednesday evening.
A junior from Macomb, Michigan, Maya Hielscher tried to secure one of the final spots for the NCAA Division III Championships in the javelin competition.
Hielscher posted her best mark on her first throw of the day at 38.04 meters. She then had marks of 28.03, 35.80 and 34.08
The Michigan native has the 20th-best mark in NCAA Division III at 40.81 meters. She set that mark at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Outdoor Track & Field Championships on May 3. She claimed a first-place finish with the mark.
The top 22 marks in the nation will qualify for the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
The NCAA will announce the qualifiers for the 2024 Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, May 17.
The javelin competition will take place on May 23.
