Maya Hielscher Secures NACC Weekly Honor

MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) released its weekly honors on Tuesday morning. Maya Hielscher was voted as the NACC Student-Athlete of the Week for women's field. The Student-Athlete of the Week Awards are voted on by the athletic communications professionals within the conference.

A junior from Macomb, Michigan, Maya Hielscher is collecting her third honor of the season. She was voted as the Student-Athlete of the Week for Track on Dec. 3 and Student-Athlete of the Week for Field on Jan. 16.

Hielscher broke the school record in the indoor pentathlon with a score of 3,055 points at the Leonard "Squig" Converse Invitational hosted by UW-Whitewater. She posted personal-best marks in both the 800-meter run (2:53.88) and shot put (9.46m; 31-0 1/2). Her converted total of 3,075 points ranks 20th on the NCAA Division III performance list.

Deyanneira Colon Maldonado of Aurora was voted as the NACC Student-Athlete of the Week for Women's Track.
