Giesseman named NFCA All-Great Lakes Region Third Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Senior third baseman Mariah Giesseman was named National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region Third Team, the organization announced Saturday. She was the only Concordia University Wisconsin representative on the postseason list.

Giesseman (Sturgeon Bay, Wis.) earned All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference First Team after leading the league in home runs with 10, which was also a career high. The third baseman also set career bests with 20 walks, eight doubles, three triples and a .679 slugging percentage.

The senior leader had a stretch of 10 games in the middle of the season where she recorded 16 hits. She finished her career as the program's all-time leader in runs scored (110), triples (8) and assists (318).

During the 2014 campaign she led the Falcons in runs (33), triples (3), home runs (10), RBI (36), batting average (.344), on-base percentage (.430) and slugging percentage (.679).
