Perkins named Softball NACC Pitcher of the Week
WAUKESHA, Wis. – Sophomore Melissa Perkins has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Pitching Softball Student-Athlete of the Week for games of April 21-27, as selected by the league's sports information directors.
Perkins (Park Forest, Ill.) won all four of her starts for the Falcons (19-17, 13-9 NACC) last week. The sophomore pitched three complete games, allowing no earned runs in each of those starts. She posted a 0.84 ERA in 25 innings of work, recording 16 strikeouts. Perkins began the week with back-to-back complete game shutouts.
Perkins and the Falcons qualified for the NACC Tournament, which is set to begin Thursday at Alverno Field in Milwaukee. CUW opens play against Dominican University at noon.
