Men's Basketball, Softball participates in Mel's 5K Run/Walk
CEDARBURG, Wis. -- Concordia University Wisconsin's Men's Basketball and Softball student-athletse and staff participated in the 4th Annual Mel's 5K Run/Walk on Saturday along the streets of Cedarburg.
Mel's Pig Roast began in 1999 after Tom 'Mel' Stanton helped formed a group to raise money for
Blaine Bergmann who lost his sister to cancer. The first event raised money for Blaine's niece, a Special Olympian. Ozaukee County Special Olympics was the recipient of $300 that first year and since then Mel's Pig Roast, Inc. has donated $323,300 to local charities.
