Softball splits a pair of games for third straight day in Florida

CLERMONT, Fla. – Concordia University Wisconsin's Softball team earned a split for the third straight day on its Florida trip, defeating Kalamazoo College, 12-0, before falling late against Elmhurst College, 4-2.

In the opener the Falcons used a well balanced offensive attack to dominate the Hornets as eight different players recorded base hits in the win. Sophomore Emilie Morrow (Colby, Wis.) was one of the eight players to get a hit in the opening game with her first career collegiate base hit. Morrow also drove in a run.

Junior Jamie Schuh (Freedom, Wis.) was dominant in the circle for CUW as she threw four scoreless innings, allowing just one hit. Freshman Alyssa Wolf (Oconomowoc, Wis.) pitched the final inning for the Falcons.

The second game against Elmhurst saw the Bluejays score two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, helping them escape with the 4-2 win. Final statistics for both games have not yet been provided.

CUW (3-7) will have tomorrow off before play two more games Tuesday. The Falcons will square off against the University of St. Thomas at 1 p.m. before playing Whitworth College at 3 p.m.
