Softball supports Leukemia Research Foundation with donation

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin's softball team raised $850 for the Leukemia Research Foundation over the past month. The Falcons began raising money in conjunction with their Senior Day on April 28.

After selling t-shirts and collecting loose change the team easily exceeded their initial goal of a few hundred dollars. Leukemia is a cancer of the blood cells that accounts for nearly 30 percent of all cancer cases in children 14 and younger.

"I am very impressed with my team and the amount of money they raised for the Leukemia Research Foundation," head coach Steve Crook said. "We are very fortunate to be coaching and playing a game we love every day, and any time we can help those in need we will do everything we can."
