RIVER FOREST, Ill. – The Falcons fell short in a battle of traditional NACC powerhouses on Saturday afternoon. The Stars sent CUW to 6-7-1 on the year and 4-4-1 in the NACC to a 3-1 victory over the Falcons.
The Falcons played short-handed due to a red card in the 44th minute.
The Stars took the lead with goals in the 44th, 55th and 58th minutes.
Sophomore Matthew Alcala (Gurnee, Ill.) found the back of the net for the Falcons in the 81st minute for his first collegiate goal off an assist to senior Spencer Standarski (Waukesha, Wis.).
The Stars held a 17-4 shots advantage on Saturday.
Junior Ivan Cuellar (Milwaukee, Wis.) led CUW with two shots.
Junior Mattson Wick (New Berlin, Wis.) had three saves on Saturday afternoon.
CUW looks to get back into the win column on Wednesday against Edgewood.
