BELOIT, Wis. – The CUW men's soccer team fell short on Sunday afternoon at Beloit, 2-1. The loss sends CUW to 1-1 on the young season.
The Buccaneers scored twice in the first half on Sunday afternoon to take the lead.
The Falcons continued to fight until the end.
Junior Nick Hummel (Green Bay, Wis.) scored with a blast to the upper-right corner off a pass from senior Jacob Stemper (Hartland, Wis.).
Beloit held a 12-8 advantage in shots.
Nick Hummel and junior Gilberto Gomez (Zion, Ill.) both finished with two shots on Sunday.
Junior Mattson Wick (New Berlin, Wis.) recorded two saves at Beloit.
The Falcons look to bounce back on Wednesday at North Central in Illinois.
