A Look Back at the Baseball Season

MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW baseball team finished the 2022 campaign with a record of 18-22.

The Falcons completed NACC play with a record of 12-12.

After starting the year with a series against Carroll, the Falcons flew south to play nine games in Arizona. The Blue and White faced ranked competition and finished with a winning record on the trip.

The birds then traveled north and played in an NFL stadium at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minnesota.

CUW feared no competition on the season and faced multiple ranked schools and NCAA Division I competition in the spring.

Multiple Falcons earned honors throughout the season.

On March 15, freshman Zach Slome (Schaumburg, Ill.) was named the NACC Pitcher of the Year.

Senior Sam Beers of Janesville, Wisconsin, again ranked in the honors in 2022. He finished the year with All-Region honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association and D3Baseball.com. Beers also earned All-NACC First Team honors.

On April 27, Sam Beers was named the NCBWA Hitter of the Week, onto the D3Baseball.com Team of the Week and the NACC Position Player of the Week.

Same Beers and senior Sean Tillmon (Plainfield, Ill.) led the flock with 60 hits each.

The Falcons look to soar again in 2023.
