Beers Named NCBWA Hitter of the Week

MEQUON, Wis. – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced their Division III National Players of the Week on Wednesday afternoon. Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters, and publicists of the sport.

Senior Sam Beers (Janesville, Wis.) garnered yet another honor for his incredible week of baseball by being named the Division III National Hitter of the Week by the NCBWA.

When asked about his third baseman, head coach Eddy Morgan had this to say, "Sam had a great week for us, he was locked in at the plate. He drove the ball to all parts of the field and gave us a number of quality at-bats. His consistency and resiliency at the plate have been a pleasure to watch."

When asked about his season thus far, Beers had this to say, "Baseball is full of highs and lows.  This was just one of those high moments, but I did not come this far to just come this far."

The Falcons are back in action on Saturday against Lakeland.
