Falcons Fail to Flip Marian Result

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Falcon failed to flip the result at Marian on Wednesday afternoon. The game that was wrongly finalized in the fifth inning in April was resumed on Wednesday. The Sabres had a sacrifice fly to secure the 5-4 victory.

The Falcons struck first on April 20 when senior Johannes Haakenson (Janesville, Wis.) scored senior Sean Tillmon (Plainfield, Ill.) in the first inning.

Senior Kyle Kosobucki (De Pere, Wis.) then singled to centerfield to score senior Sam Beers (Janesville, Wis.).

The Sabres responded with three runs in the first inning and held a 3-2 lead when the game was called due to rain.

The Blue and White started the Wednesday scoring in the sixth inning when senior Daniel Hahn (Cudahy, Wis.) smacked a triple down the right-field line to score senior Dillan Fike (Oak Lawn, Ill.).

Hahn later scored on a sacrifice fly from Sam Beers.

The Sabres tied the game in the seventh inning and won the game on a sacrifice fly in the ninth inning.

Freshman Luke Bruckner (Fond du Lac, Wis.) had four strikeouts in the start and sophomore Jack Hribernik (Menomonee Falls, Wis. had three strikeouts in relief.

Sean Tillmon and Kyle Kosobucki led the game with two hits.

The Falcons close the home portion of the regular season on Friday against Illinois Tech.
