This afternoon, the Falcons resume postseason play in the Slaats Cup Quarterfinals at Aurora. The Falcons are the No. 5 seed in the tournament with 25 points. The Spartans are the fourth seed in the tournament with 30 points.
 
CUW is making its 10th appearance in the NCHA Slaats Cup Playoffs. The Falcons are 5-15-1 in the Slaats Cup and advanced to the finals in 2015 after defeating St. Scholastica and Adrian.
 
Today will be the 12th all-time meeting between the two schools. The Spartans lead the series with a 7-4-0 record after winning the last six meetings. 
The Falcons broke the program record with 13 regular-season victories. The Blue and White have broken the school record with 122 assists, 205 points and 22 power-play goals.
 
The Spartans won game one of the series with a 7-4 victory. The Black and Blue scored five goals in the third period to secure the victory. 
 
CUW is ranked in the top-25 in NCAA Division III in nine statistical categories. CUW is fourth in faceoff win percentage at .592, ninth in shutouts with four, 10th in power-play goals at 23, 11th in assists at 127, 13th in points at 208, 15th in goals at 81, 18th in scoring offense at 3.24 and short-handed goals at two and 24th in scoring margin at 3.24.
 
Senior Emily Reimche leads the nation with 345 faceoff victories. Freshman Brooke Gibson is third in game-winning goals with six and seventh in power-play goals. Junior Annalina Van Hercke ranks 13th in shutouts with three shutouts. Senior Baileigh Johnson and senior Sarah Tretina are 25th in short-handed goals with one.
