Men's Hockey places 12 on NCHA All-Academic Team

WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Hockey team had its best year to date on the ice during the 2017-18 season, winning a program-record 16 games. The Falcons were pretty good off the ice as well as 12 players were selected to the NCHA All-Academic Team, the league office announced Wednesday.

The 12 players the Falcons put on the All-Academic list was fifth most in the NCHA. In order to qualify for All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must be of at least sophomore status academically and have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher.

Team captains Travis Marit and Jared Pilet were selected to the NCHA All-Academic Team for the third straight season. In addition, senior Justin Coachman was a second-year selection and Nick Szopinski gained his first All-Academic selection.

Joining the four seniors on the All-Academic was five juniors who were honored for the second-consecutive year: Adam Fauchoux, Nick Malvin, Jack Romanuik, Stefen Seel, and Eric Therrien. Junior Connor Hogg was a first-year All-Academic honoree, as were sophomores Josh Adkins and Jake Switzer.
