Eight from Men's Hockey honored as AHCA All-American Scholars
The Concordia University Wisconsin Men's Hockey team was well-represented on the American Hockey Coaches Association All-American Scholar list, with the award being released in late September. The 2016-17 season was the first season in which the AHCA honored All-American Scholars.
To be chosen for the honor, a player must have averaged a 3.6 GPA and participated in 40 percent of their games in 2016-17. The Falcons, who always pride themselves on being excellent in the classroom, had eight players from the 2016-17 honored.
2016-17 seniors Tanner Bull, Josh Herrington, and Brandt Weldon all received the honor, as did freshman Spencer Loverock, a player who transferred from CUW in the offseason.
The Falcons have four current players who earned the All-American Scholar honor as well. Connor Hogg, Stefen Seel, Jared Pilet, and Eric Therrien are the four returning players who will try and receive the honor was again in 2017-18.
