SEEL POSTGAME

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Seel (Invermere, British Columbia) got the scoring started when he was awarded a penalty shot just 2:13 into play. The junior forward made sure to take advantage of the rare penalty shot chance, converting for the 1-0 lead.

- The Falcons added a second score with just over three minutes left in the opening stanza on a power play tally by Connor Hogg (London, Ontario). Taylor Gauld (Whitby, Ontario) and Seel assisted on the power play score as the line consisting of three juniors had it rolling Saturday.

- UW-Superior scored very early into the second period (10 seconds in) and very late (one second remaining) but the Falcons added a second period tally of their own to take a 3-2 lead into the final stanza. Seel recorded his second goal of the game with 1:27 left in the period, this one assisted by Josh Adkins (Victoria, British Columbia) and Brett Garvey (Ashton, Ontario).

- Seel again played a role in the Falcons final goal of the game, another power play score. Gauld lit the lamp for the third-period goal as Jake Switzer (Swansea, Ill.) recorded an assist on the play in addition to Seel.

- Malvin (Ham Lake, Minn.) moved to 2-0-0 with a 27-save effort. The junior netminder made nine stops in each period. The Falcons spent plenty of the day in their offensive zone as CUW peppered 47 shots on the Yellowjackets' Kyle Miller. Miller finished the game with 43 saves.

- CUW finished the game 2-for-6 on the power play, while UW-Superior also converted on 33 percent of its chances, going 1-for-3.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Seel has recorded 0.88 points per game in his career with the Falcons, producing 38 points in 43 games. The 0.88 points per game are tied for the best average in program history, along with Sam Aide and Devin Stuermer.

UP NEXT
- The Falcons will go on the road for two NCHA games next weekend, beginning with a trip to De Pere to face No. 2 St. Norbert Friday night. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m.
