Women's Tennis Wrangles the Gators in Florida
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Falcons took care of the Gators of Allegheny on Wednesday afternoon in Orlando. The Falcons improve to 13-2 on the year with the 8-1 victory.
The Falcons opened the day with the senior sensational duo of Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) and Ashley Samuta (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) securing an 8-2 victory at No. 1 doubles.
Freshman Sofia Buhr (Blumenau, Brazil) and senior Mallory Moen (Neenah, Wis.) mopped up the Gators at No. 2 doubles, 8-1.
Senior Mia Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis.) and junior Mya Werning (Watertown, Wis.) ate up Allegheny with an 8-3 victory at No. 3 doubles.
Ashley Samuta sat down Sabrina Rodriguez at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-2.
Sofia Buhr bounced Jean-Arlette Legrand at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-1.
At No. 1 singles, Ricki Budewitz beat Emilia Grydnieva, 6-4, 6-4.
Mia Andrae edged Rei Etsumi at No. 5 singles with a 6-4, 7-6 (6) victory.
Mallory Moen wrapped up the action on court four with a 5-7, 7-5, 12-10 victory.
The Falcons will face a tough task on Thursday against Calvin and Carnegie Mellon.
