Women's Soccer Wins at Wisconsin Lutheran on Wednesday

WAUWATOSA, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's soccer team still sits atop the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference standings. The Falcons added three more points to the standings with the 2-1 victory at Wisconsin Lutheran. The Blue and White improved to 5-3-0 on the year and have nine points in the NACC standings at 3-0-0.

The Falcons struck first on Wednesday night.

Senior Bella Rapp (Grafton, Wis.) danced around three Warrior defenders and placed the ball in the lower corner of the net in the fourth minute.

Four minutes later, junior Autumn Snow (Cedarburg, Wis.) had a shot saved by the goalkeeper.

In the 19th minute, senior Sheridan Dorge (Winnipeg, Man.) struck with a blast just outside of the 18-yard box to the far-left corner off a pass from senior Maya Bell (West Bend, Wis.).

Late in the 25th minute, the Falcons threatened with a pair of shots from freshman Jacey Read (Carbondale, Colo.) and Maya Bell.

The Falcons finished the first half with shots on goal from freshman Hailey Whittow (Menomonee Falls, Wis.) and freshman Madi Schrader (Sugar Grove, Ill.).

The Warriors struck early with a goal 31 seconds into the second half.

The Blue and White had some good looks in the 69th minute when Hailey Whittow and freshman Isabella Wentorf (Racine, Wis.) sent the ball to the net.

The Warriors tried to level the match with a pair of shots in the 85th minute with a shot off the post and a save from senior Brooke Braga (Belgium, Wis.).

The Birds held an 18-12 advantage in shots with Isabella Wentorf and Sheridan Dorge leading the way with four.

Brooke Braga finished the evening with three saves.

CUW did not allow a single corner on the night and forced five of their own.

The Falcons look to continue their winning ways on Sunday at Rockford.
