Women's Soccer Outduels Aurora

MEQUON, Wis. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's soccer team remained unblemished in the young Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) season. The Falcons tipped over Aurora, 3-2, to improve to 4-3-0 on the year and 2-0-0 in the NACC.

Aurora had the first few looks of the match, but senior Brooke Braga (Belgium, Wis.) collected a pair of saves in the first 12 minutes.

The Falcons then flipped the script and senior Sabrina Moore (Park Ridge, Ill.) started to attack the Aurora net as she showcased her speed.

Moore broke the seal in the 16th minute as she curled the ball into the far side of the net.

The Spartans spoiled the fun with a goal of their own in the 32nd minute and narrowly missed a shot in the 45th minute to send the teams to halftime tied at one.

Both goaltenders made some incredible saves to open the second half.

Senior Sheridan Dorge (Winnipeg, Man.) broke the tie in the 67th minute with a blast past the keeper for her first goal of the year set up by a beautiful pass from senior Anna Gong (Phoenix, Ariz.).

Two minutes later, junior Brie Rozmiarek (West De Pere, Wis.) scored off assists from Sabrina Moore and freshman Hailey Whittow (Menomonee Falls, Wis.).

The Spartans posted some tough shots, but Brooke Braga made some quality saves to keep the Spartans away.

The Black and Blue applied some pressure with a goal in the 87th minute, but the Falcons maintained possession and drained the clock to zero to preserve the victory.

The Falcons held a 20-16 advantage in shots on Saturday. Sabrina Moore led the contest with seven.

Brooke Braga finished with seven saves on Saturday.

The victory was the 250th of Ryan Middendorf's career.

The Falcons return to action on Wednesday night at Wisconsin Lutheran.
