Two Falcons earn All-NCHA honors
MEQUON, Wis. - The Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Women's Conference announced the 2019-20 season award winners on Wednesday afternoon, including Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Freshman of the Year, All-Conference team and All-Freshmen team. The CUW women's hockey team landed two selections with Breanna Thomson earning an All-Conference selection and Annalina Van Hercke claiming an All-Freshman selection.
A senior from St. Marys, Ontario, Breanna Thomson is being named an NCHA All-Conference selection for the first time in her career. This year, she broke the program record for career shutouts, single-season shutouts and the longest shutout streak in program history. In net, she posted a 2.11 goals-against average and a save percentage of .934. Thomson finished the season with 590 saves and seven victories.
A freshman from Castle Rock, Colorado, Annalina Van Hercke was named to the NCHA All-Freshman Team. Van Hercke boasted a .921 save percentage on the season on 175 saves. She also picked up two victories in her freshman campaign.
Adrian swept the major honors with NCHA Player of the Year to Kelly O'Sullivan, NCHA Freshman of the Year to Une Bjelland and NCHA Coach of the Year to Shawn Skelly.
