Appelbaum joins Women’s Hockey staff

MEQUON, Wis. – Kendall Appelbaum was added to the Concordia Wisconsin women's hockey coaching staff. Appelbaum brings years of experience to the staff.

"I am eager to get out on the ice with the ladies," said Appelbaum. "Hockey has been a huge part of my life and I look forward to assisting in the growth of women's college hockey at Concordia University Wisconsin."

A native of Buffalo, New York, played defense at Oswego State University. At OSU, she was a two-sport athlete, playing hockey and lacrosse. Prior to Oswego State, Appelbaum was a standout athlete at Nichols School in Buffalo, New York.

Appelbaum played 102 games over four years for the Lakers. She scored 19 goals and 22 assists for the Green and Gold. Appelbaum helped anchor a powerful Laker defense that propelled OSU into the top-10 of the national rankings.

"We are very excited to add Kendall to our coaching staff," said head coach Steve Fabilli. "She has a great hockey background along with experience in coaching and recruiting that will benefit our program tremendously. Each of our other coaches and players are looking forward to working with her."

Over the last two years, Appelbaum has been the women's lacrosse graduate assistant and will continue to work with the program.

She has coached various levels of hockey and lacrosse spanning from elementary to high-school athletes. Over the past few years, Appelbaum has coached the Lakeshore Lightning and with the Ozaukee Youth Organization.

Appelbaum graduated from Oswego State in May 2017 with a bachelors of science degree in Wellness Management and a minor in Athletic Coaching. This May, she earned her master's degree in Student Personnel Administration at Concordia Wisconsin.
