Women’s Hockey falls at Gustavus Adolphus

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The CUW women's hockey team fell to 0-3-0 on the year with a 5-0 loss at Gustavus Adolphus.

Defense reigned supreme through the first 40 minutes.

The Gusties got on the scoreboard on the power play on a five-minute major penalty late in the second period.

Gustavus Adolphus broke the game open with four goals in the third period.

Freshman Annalina Van Hercke (Castle Rock, Colo.) recorded 36 saves in her collegiate debute.

The Gusties outshot CUW on Friday, 41-12. Senior Emily Godwin (London, Ont.), senior Sam Lombardi (Ancaster, Ont.) and junior Madi Chapman (Rogers, Minn.) all had two shots.

The Falcons return to action on Saturday at Hamline.
