MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW women's hockey team fell short on Saturday afternoon to St. Scholastica. The Falcons fell 0-2 to move to 6-9-2 on the season and 5-4-1 in the NCHA.
The Saints struck first on a five-on-three advantage in the second period and added an insurance goal in the third period.
Senior Breanna Thomson (St. Marys, Ont.) finished with 32 saves.
The Falcons won 23 of the 42 faceoffs with senior Natasha Wanless (Madison, Wis.) winning 11 on Saturday.
St. Scholastica outshot the Falcons on Saturday, 34-24.
CUW will close the home portion of the schedule next weekend against Adrian, who is currently ranked sixth in NCAA Division III.
