STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The Falcons fell short in overtime on Tuesday night at UW-Stevens Point in overtime. Special-teams play carried the Pointers to a 2-1 victory to send the Blue and White to 8-12-2 on the season.
Sophomore Maddy Millar (Anchorage, Alaska) drew first blood with a second period when she skated down the ice and snuck the puck past the right side of the UWSP keeper.
Stevens Point struck back in the third period on a steal for a short-handed goal.
The Purple and Gold ended the game with a power-play goal to end the game in overtime.
The Pointers held a 45-32 advantage in shots on Tuesday night.
Maddy Millar led CUW with five shots.
Freshman Annalina Van Hercke (Castle Rock, Colo.) posted 29 saves against the Pointers.
The Falcons will close the regular season this weekend at Lake Forest.
