Falcons get better as match progresses

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – It wasn't the win-loss result Concordia Wisconsin wanted, but it improved from set to set on Friday night inside the Kern Center. MSOE won the NACC contest 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-22).

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The overall result wasn't what Concordia Wisconsin wanted, but it improved from set to set in the league matchup. They scored 14 in the opening set, accumulated 19 points in the second frame and 22 points in the final frame.
- The Falcons didn't start out strong offensively but had eight and seven kills in the second and third sets. Freshman Isaac Glynn (Byron, Minn.) led the team with six kills and six digs. Freshman Matthew Korman (Roscoe, Ill.) directed the offense to the tune of 10 assists, to go along with nine digs.
- Concordia Wisconsin led 5-4 in the early going on the match, but MSOE turned it on with a pair of 5-0 scoring runs before eventually taking the set 25-14.
- The third frame featured eight scoring ties and three lead changes, as the Falcons trailed by a point, 23-22, in the late stages. This was after they led 13-11 and had it tied at 17-all. The Raiders capitalized on an attack error and served an ace to earn the sweep.

THE OPPOSITION
- Logan Baerenwald led all players with 13 kills, while Griffin Dunn had eight kills. Jacob Bentz dished out 21 assists and dug nine attack attempts.
- Luke Carpenter and Brian Jones each recorded two solo blocks.

- Concordia Wisconsin travels to Lakeland for a Saturday 1 pm NACC contest.
