Falcons Roll Regents in Regular Season Finale

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Concordia Wisconsin men's volleyball program wrapped up the regular season in winning fashion on Friday night. The Falcons rolled past Rockford with a 25-22, 25-19, 25-16 victory. With the victory, the Falcons finish the regular season at 12-10 and at 8-4 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. The Regents finish the season at 1-20 and 1-11 in the NACC.

The first set was a back-and-forth fight with 12 ties and three lead changes. Neither team was able to grow a lead larger than two points in the first set until the final 25-22 margin. CUW closed the set on a 3-0 run that was capped off by a kill from sophomore Chase Ammons (Elm Grove, Wis.). The Falcons hit a scorching .371 in the set and were led by senior Spencer Herman (Kimberly, Wis.) with six kills.

The Regents posted an early 3-1 lead, but the Falcons swung back with the next five points behind the serve of junior Lucas Beres (Germantown, Wis.), who had three service aces in the run. The Birds broke the set open at 10-10 with a 6-0 run to earn some separation. The Regents trimmed the lead to four points at 17-13, but that was as close as they could get and sophomore Tate Miller (Anthem, Ariz.) ended the set at 25-19 with a kill.

The Falcons strolled away with an early lead in the third set and never looked back. The largest lead came off a service ace from junior Logan Kebisek (Brookfield, Wis.) at 18-7. The Falcons ended the night at 25-16 with a kill from freshman Zach Koeferl (Germantown, Wis.).

Spencer Herman led the match with 11 kills in the victory.

Tate Miller had a sensational night with 10 kills and hit .667 against the Regents.

Lucas Beres was everywhere with four kills, four service aces, and a block.

Logan Kebisek dished out 35 assists and sophomore Parker Pearson (Keller, Texas) led the match with eight digs.

Friday was the third time this season that Concordia Wisconsin hit .400 or better. Joining the Concordia Chicago and Wisconsin Lutheran matches.

The Falcons finish the NACC season in fifth place and will travel to either Benedictine or MSOE on Tuesday for the NACC Tournament Quarterfinals. The Blue and White will learn their destination on Saturday night.
