Men's Hockey's Braydon Barker Signs ECHL Contract With Solar Bears

MEQUON, Wis. –CUW men's hockey player Braydon Barker (Red Deer, Alta.) was recently signed to an ECHL Standard Player Contract for the 2021-22 season by the Orlando Solar Bears.
Barker, a four-year player on the CUW men's hockey team, ended his season with the Falcons leading all NCAA Division III defensemen with 26 total points netting one goal and assisting on 25 more.
Barker leaves the Falcons as the all-time leading scorer having 92 points in 93 career games with 16 total goals and 76 total assists.
Barker commented "I just want to thank everyone that has helped me along the way.  All of my coaches, teammates, athletic trainers, and strength and conditioning staff these last four years.  I'm also thankful for everyone I met at Concordia over the past four years and all of the relationships I built.  I have nothing but good things to say about my time there and the people I met.  I am looking forward to this opportunity."
When asked for a comment, Coach Bill Horton said "I am ecstatic for him. After such a great career at CUW being an All-American and leading the team in points, he deserves it.  It couldn't have happened to a better guy.  I know Barks will be a shoo-in for their lineup because of his off-ice personality and dedication to the game. I am excited to track him and watch him excel."
The Solar Bears begin their season in the middle of December.
