Thunder roll past Men’s Hockey

MEQUON, Wis. – The Thunder leveled the men's hockey weekend series with a 5-2 victory on Saturday evening. The Falcons move to 1-5-0 on the year with the loss.

Trine struck first on Saturday night with a pair of first-period goals.

The Thunder pushed the lead to three goals with a power-play goal 91 seconds into the second period.

Three minutes later, senior Nick Guerra (Victoria B.C.) found the back of the net on the power play off passes from senior Braydon Barker (Red Deer, Alta.) and senior Cole Pickup (Victoria, B.C.)

The Falcons struck again on the power play two minutes later off the stick of junior Cory Dennis (Madison, Wis.). Braydon Barker and Cole Pickup added the assists on the goal.

The Thunder got some separation with a goal late in the second period and an empty-net goal to secure the victory.

The Falcons posted a 46-28 shots advantage on Saturday, with Nick Guerra and Cory Dennis both landing six shots.

Junior Bo Didur (West Vancouver, B.C.) collected 23 saves on Saturday.

The Falcons will look to rebound on Friday night at Marian.
