Men's Hockey avenges the Sabres

MEQUON, Wis.- The CUW men's hockey team came away with a 4-1 win against the Sabres on Saturday night. The Falcons improve to 2-7-0 for the season.

The Falcons fired first with a goal from senior captain, Cole Pickup (Victoria, B.C.) nine minutes into the first period. Sophomore Alex Way (Ottawa, Ont.) would secure another goal in the first period with 1:45 left in the first period.

Marian would get the puck into the net to close the lead for the Falcons by one in the second period.

The Falcons would bounce back with another two goals scored by senior Nick Guiney (Victoria, B.C.)­ in the third period.

The Blue and White tallied 33 shots throughout the game. Pickup led the team in shots with 10 total.

Freshman Liam McGarva (Fort Saskatchewan, Alta.) would see 44 shots throughout the game, saving 43 in his first collegiate victory.

The CUW men's hockey team hosts St. Scholastica for a weekend series starting on Friday.
