Field Hockey Knocks Down Neumann

ASTON, Pa. – The Falcons came out on top of a defensive battle on Friday afternoon at Neumann. The Blue and White knocked out the Knights with a 1-0 victory to improve to 7-7 on the season.

The lone goal of the game came in the 25th minute off the stick of junior Alex Klamm (Glen Carbon, Ill.) on a deflection from sophomore Renee Lund (Vista, Calif.).

The Falcons held a 10-5 advantage in shots on Friday afternoon. Junior Lorri Pitock (Naperville, Ill.) led all players with six shots.

The Knights fought until the end and had a penalty corner in the fourth quarter, but the CUW defense stood tall.

Junior Emily Binley (Suffolk, Va.) had four saves in her sixth shutout of the season.

The Concordia defense has not allowed a goal in the last 184 minutes played.

The three-game shutout streak is the longest in program history.

The seven victories in the season also tie the program record. Matching the 2018 season, where CUW posted a 7-8 record.

CUW will play at Susquehanna on Sunday morning to complete the weekend action.
