MEQUON, Wis. – The CUW field hockey program defeated DePauw for the first time in program history with a 1-0 victory in the home opener. The Falcons improve to 1-2 on the young season with the victory.
Sophomore Renee Lund (Vista, Calif.) scored the lone goal of the day and her first collegiate goal as she threw in the shot off a pass from senior Megan McPike (Mequon, Wis.).
Junior Emily Binley (Suffolk, Va.) posted her first collegiate full-game shutout on Saturday with eight saves.
Both teams finished with 15 shots on Saturday morning. Megan McPike led CUW with four shots.
CUW has a quick turnaround as the Falcons will play another NCAC foe in Ohio Wesleyan at Northwestern on Sunday morning.
