Emily Binley Named SAA Defensive Player of the Week

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) named Emily Binley as the SAA Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. The award was voted on by sports information directors of the five SAA field hockey programs.

The junior from Suffolk, Virginia, Emily Binley is claiming the honor for the first time in her career.

On Saturday, she earned her first career shutout in a 1-0 victory over DePauw with eight saves.

On Sunday morning, Binley posted a career-high 18 saves against Ohio Wesleyan.

Transylvania's Mirabel Noltemeyer was named the SAA Offensive Player of the Week.

Binley and the Falcons return to action on Wednesday against Oberlin.
