Emily Binley Claims SAA Weekly Honor

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) named Emily Binley as the SAA Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. The award was voted on by sports information directors of the five SAA field hockey programs.

The junior from Suffolk, Virginia, Emily Binley is claiming the honor for the first time this season.

On Saturday, Binley broke the school record with 24 saves at Centre.

On Sunday morning, she posted nine saves against Roanoke.

Moira Darling of Sewanee was named the SAA Offensive Player of the Week.

Binley claimed the honor for the first time in her career on Sept. 13 for her performances against DePauw and Ohio Wesleyan.

Binley and the Falcons return to action on Saturday against Transylvania.
