Field Hockey Drops the Season Opener at Earlham

RICHMOND, Ind. – The Falcons came up short in the season opener on Saturday afternoon at Earlham. The Quakers took the first game from the weekend with a 3-0 victory.

The Concordia defense kept the game scoreless in the first two quarters on Saturday, but Earlham struck the back of the cage in the third and scored two more goals in the fourth quarter.

Earlham held a 21-5 shots advantage on Saturday. Sophomore Caroline Slick (Spotsylvania, Va.) led the flock with two shots.

Junior Emily Binley (Suffolk, Va.) collected nine saves against Earlham.

The Falcons look to even the series on Sunday.
