Falcons remain unbeaten at home with win over Hamline

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin moved to 6-0 at home this season with a 13-9 victory over Hamline Saturday afternoon. The Falcons had six different players score in win and four of them had multiple goals.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENEND
- Sophomore Allison Kurek (Chicago, Ill.) has been on a goal scoring tear the last two games achieving a hat-trick in each of the last two contests. She continued that impressive scoring display as she netted five goals against Hamline, four of which came in the second half.
- The Falcons defense was a key contributor in the win as they caused 17 turnovers and picked up 27 ground balls compared to Hamline who only forced seven turnovers and gathered eight groundballs. 11 of the 13 Falcons that played recovered at least one ground ball and eight recovered multiple ground balls for CUW.
- Concordia scored the first goal of the game by Sabrina Boehlke (Random Lake, Wis.) just three and a half minutes in and never trailed the rest of the way. Hamline would get as close as one on two occasion but could never tie or take the lead over the Falcons.
- Kurek did a little bit of everything today for CUW, outside of scoring her game-high five goals, she picked up six ground balls and caused six turnovers.
- Boehlke found the back of the net a second time later in the first half while freshmen Lauren Paquin (Waukesha, Wis.) and Christina Pattengale (Portage, Mich.) also scored two goals on the afternoon.
- Freshman Victoria Dahl (Stillwater, Minn.) and sophomore Caitlin Henry (Lansing, Ill.) also found the back of the net to round out the scoring.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Kurek has now scored 13 goals in the last three games.
- CUW recorded three free-position goals for the game which ties a season-high.
- The Falcons were successful on 15-of-17 clear attempts.
- CUW has now won 12 consecutive home games dating back to last season.

THE OPPOSITION
- Maddie Brown led Hamline with five goals of her own on the afternoon.
- Lexus Tatge and Dana Almquist each scored a pair of goals for the Pipers.

NEXT ON THE SCHEDULE
- The Falcons return to action next Saturday with a 4 pm MWLC contest at home against Benedictine.
