Falcons extend home winning streak

MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia Wisconsin scored early and often against Carroll on a cold and rainy afternoon at Fitting Field, en route to a dominating 15-5 non-conference victory. The win pushes the Falcons home winning streak to 10 games.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Falcons stormed out to a commanding 7-0 advantage through the first 13 minutes of competition. During the scoring outburst sophomore Allison Kurek (Chicago, Ill.) recorded a hat trick, including the game's opening goal just 13 seconds into play.
- CUW would eventually hold a 10-2 lead at halftime and push the different to as many as 11 goals in the second half.
- The Falcons were 11-of-11 on the clear in the opening half and finished the game with a 28-14 lead in ground balls and caused 20 turnovers. Overall, they had a 24-12 difference in shots on goal.
- Kurek ended the contest with four goals, seven ground balls, two draw control wins and a career-high 10 caused turnovers.
- Freshman Victoria Dahl (Stillwater, Minn.) recorded her first career hat trick, to go along with a goal for a career-high four points. Along with sophomore Caitlin Henry (Lansing, Ill.), they each had a free-position marker.
- Senior Katherine Pauletti (Roseville, Minn.) had three caused turnovers, four ground balls, two draw control wins, a goal and an assist.
- Senior Sabrina Boehlke (Kewaskum, Wis.) and Henry each scored twice. Freshman Christina Pattengale (Portage, Mich.) ended with two assists and a goal for a career-best-tying three points. Overall, eight Falcons found the back of the net.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Kurek's 10 caused turnovers tied the program's single game record, which she set last season in a game against Benedictine on May 1. As well, her seven ground balls were tied for the eighth most in a game.
- CUW's 20 caused turnovers were tied for the sixth most in a game. It was second time this season they caused 20 or more turnovers in a game.
- Sophomore Anna Modrich (Franklin Park, Ill.) picked up a career-best four ground balls and also caused two turnovers.

THE OPPOSITION
- Kailey Leahy led the Pioneers with a pair of goals, while three of her teammates each scored once.
- Hannah Morrow ended with five ground balls, four draw control wins and a pair of caused turnovers.
- Shelby Will made nine saves during a complete game losing effort.
