Falcons cruise past Loras in easy MWLC win

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Concordia Wisconsin scored less than 30 seconds into the game and never looked back in a dominating 18-1 victory at Loras on Saturday afternoon. Allison Kurek and Lauren Paquin combined to score 10 goals in the victory and the Falcons caused a program-record 25 turnovers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Caitlin Henry scored for the Falcons just over 30 seconds into the game, which started a stretch of 15-consecutive goals that went nearly nine minutes into the second half. CUW overmatched Loras in all facets of the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference contest.
- The Falcons outshot the Duhawks 36-4, including 26-1 on goal, and forced 38 turnovers of which 25 were caused. They visitors also won 15-of-20 draw controls, were successful on all 10 clear attempts and limited Loras to just 11-of-36 on the clear.
- CUW initiated the running-clock rule for the first time this season after freshman Lauren Paquin (Waukesha, Wis.) netted her third goal of the half to put the visitors in front 10-0.
- Paquin finished with five goals and two assists for a career-high seven points; while Henry (sophomore, Lansing, Ill.) and freshmen Victoria Dahl (Stillwater, Minn.) and Christina Pattengale (Portage, Mich.) each had a pair of goals. Pattengale also won a career-high four draw controls.
- Sophomore Allison Kurek (Chicago, Ill.) stuffed her stat line with five goals, three assists, seven ground balls, five draw control wins and eight caused turnovers.
- Senior Sabrina Boehlke (Random Lake, Wis.) ended with a goal, assist, career-high six ground balls and career-best four caused turnovers.
- Senior Katherine Pauletti (Roseville, Minn.) recorded a goal, two assists, career-best five ground balls and three caused turnovers.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Falcons 25 caused turnovers sets the program's game record.
- Kurek's eight points were tied for the third most in a game in program history and was one point shy of tying the record set twice by Hannah Redden. Her eight points also moves her past the 100 point plateau in her young career.
- As well, Kurek's seven ground balls were tied for the eighth most in a game and her eight caused turnovers were the second most. She holds the program's game record for caused turnovers (10).

THE OPPOSITION
- Kaitlyn Kutsch scored the Duhawks only goal with 18:53 remaining in the game on a free-position attempt. She also won four draw controls.
- Goalkeeper Ashley McGee made eight saves, picked up eight ground balls and caused four turnovers.
