Paquin, Kurek earn MWLC Player of the Week honors

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Lauren Paquin and Allison Kurek were named Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, the league office announced Monday afternoon. Both helped the Falcons to a pair of wins last week.

Paquin (Waukesha, Wis.) led the Falcons offensively with a pair of outstanding games scoring a total of 12 goals, while also picking up four ground balls and causing three turnovers. During CUW's 17-11 victory over Illinois Institute of Technology the rookie racked up seven goals and two ground balls. Paquin then added five goals, including the game-winning free-position score, during an important 10-9 non-conference victory against North Central.

Kurek (Chicago, Ill.) paced CUW defensively in the two victories with nine ground balls, 16 draw control wins, nine caused turnovers; while also contributing seven goals and three assists. She had six ground balls, six draw control wins and six caused turnovers, while also scoring five goals, during a 17-11 victory over Illinois Institute of Technology. Kurek then recorded three ground balls, 10 draw control wins and three caused turnovers, to go along with two goals and two assists in a 10-9 victory versus North Central.

The weekly honor is the first of Paquin's career and the fifth of Kurek's career.
