Moegenburg leads Falcons in NACC postseason honors

WAUKESHA, Wis. – Concordia University Wisconsin had four players earn All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference honors, with Kaily Moegenburg receiving First Team accolades after a successful season.

Moegenburg, along with Lauren Nevinski, Lindsey Casper and Makenzie Paszek represented the Falcons on the All-NACC postseason honors list. CUW finished the season 18-12 overall and 9-2 in league play. They earned the third seed in the NACC Tournament and advanced to the semifinal round.

Moegenburg (sophomore, Plymouth, Wis.) led the conference in total blocks (45) and block assists (40), and ranked second in blocks per set (1.10). She had 13 matches this season with at least three block assists. Overall, Moegenburg had a .195 attack percentage, but was better in league play with a .216 attack percentage. She had seven double-digit kill matches and recorded four double-doubles.

Nevinski (sophomore, New Berlin, Wis.) earned All-NACC Second Team honors after ranking third in the NACC for total blocks (37) and second in block assists (34). She had 17 matches with three or more block assists during the season. Offensively, Nevinski led the Falcons with a .244 attack percentage, to go along with 204 kills.

Casper (freshman, Hubertus, Wis.) was named to the All-NACC Honorable Mention team. She led the Falcons defensive efforts all season with 439 digs (4.67 per set), which included a 4.22 digs per set average during NACC play. She dug over 20 attack attempts seven times, including three in the last four matches of the season.

Paszek (freshman, Sussex, Wis.) received All-NACC Freshman Team accolades. She had 223 kills (second on the team) in 29 matches played for a team-high 2.30 kills per set average. Paszek smashed double-figure kills in 10 matches and recorded three double-doubles.

The Falcons won eight-consecutive matches during September, the longest streak of the season. They swept Benedictine, 3-0, in the NACC Tournament quarterfinals before their season ended with a 3-1 loss at Dominican.
