Women’s Track & Field competes at Platteville

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – The CUW women's track & field team competed at UW-Platteville on Saturday.

"Platteville served us well with a lot of personal records," said head coach Russ DeLap. "One of the best performances came from Irene Bolis in the 60-meter hurdles, who smashed a school record. Overall, I am seeing a lot of progress as a team. I am excited about how we preformed today."

Senior Irene Bolis (Marengo, Ill.) broke the school record in the 60-meter hurdles in the prelims at 9.59. Anastasia Hoeg finished 11th at 9.82.

Sophomore Megan Sprinkman (Kohler, Wis.) posted the fifth-fastest time in school history in the 60-meter dash at 8.25.

The Falcons finished fourth in the 4x200 meter relay. The team of senior Jennifer Miller (Freedom, Wis.), senior Molly Wirtz (Stevens Point, Wis.), senior Morgan Marnholtz (Merrill, Wis.) and Irene Bolis clocked in at 1:59.96.

Junior Nicole Veldhorst (Cedar Grove, Wis.) took third place in the high jump at 1.47 meters.

At the pole vault, Jennifer Miller finished in third place at 3.10 meters.

Morgan Marnholtz finished the long jump in 14th place at 4.60 meters.

In the triple jump, Nicole Veldhorst placed seventh at 10.19 meters and Morgan Marnholtz placed eighth at 10.14 meters.

Sophomore Megan Curran (Spring Grove, Ill.) took 12th in the shot put at 11.51 meters and in the weight throw at 13.34 meters.

Molly Wirtz finished 24th in the 800-meter run at 2:39.13.

In the 3000-meter run, freshman Alyssa Jodarski (Eldorado, Wis.) finished in 17th place at 12:12.52.

The Falcons return to action on Saturday at Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
