Women’s Track & Field secures a sixth-place finish at St. Norbert

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Falcons finished in sixth place at the St. Norbert Twilight Invite on Thursday with 63 points. St. Norbert led the nine teams with 141 points. The CUW claimed two event titles on Thursday.

Senior Irene Bolis (Marengo, Ill.) was the individual champion in the 100-meter hurdles with a winning time of 15.87.

The Falcons posted a 1-2 finish in the discus throw. Senior Chloe Eckstein (Reedsville, Wis.) was the champion at 38.27 meters, with sophomore Megan Curran (Spring Grove, Ill.) finishing in second place at 37.88 meters. Eckstein also finished fourth in the javelin at 28.87 meters and in ninth place in the hammer throw at 36.70 meters.

The triple jump saw senior Morgan Marnholtz (Merrill, Wis.) placed second at 10.18 meters. In the 400-meter dash, Marnholtz clocked in a fourth-place time of 1:05.08.

Sophomore Megan Sprinkman (Kohler, Wis.) notched a third-place finish in the 100-meter dash at 13.20. She also finished seventh in the 200-meter dash at 27.49.

Megan Curran had a toss of 11.73 meters in the shot put to finish in third place.

Sophomore LaNea Bartel (Kewaunee, Wis.) led CUW in the 1500-meter run in eighth place at 5:29.76.

Freshman Emma Verbeke (Appleton, Wis.) crossed the finish line at 2:40.70 to finish in 10th place in the 800-meter run.

The Falcons return to action on Saturday, April 27 at the Wisconsin-Whitewater Drake Alternative.
