Women’s Track & Field takes fifth at NACC Championships

LISLE, Ill. – The CUW women's track & field regular season ended on Saturday at the Northern Athletics Colligate Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The Falcons finished in fifth place with 81.5 points. Aurora claimed its eighth-straight title with 224 points.

The Falcons earned a third-place finish in the 4x100 meter relay. The team of senior Jennifer Miller (Freedom, Wis.), freshman Ndeye Thiam (Grayslake, Ill.), senior Irene Bolis (Marengo, Ill.) and sophomore Megan Sprinkman (Kohler, Wis.) clocked in at 48.83 for a school record.

Megan Sprinkman secured a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash at 26.43.

Junior Nicole Veldhorst (Cedar Grove, Wis.) cleared 1.51 meters in the high jump to earn a third-place finish. In the long jump, she finished in 15th place at 4.53 meters.

Sophomore Megan Curran (Spring Grove, Ill.) finished with a third-place mark of 12.50 meters in the shot put. She also finished in seventh place at 41.13 meters in the hammer throw.

Irene Bolis won the bronze medal in the 100-meter hurdles at 15.65. Anastasia Hoeg was in fifth place at 16.20.

The Falcons closed the day with a fourth-place finish in the 4x400 meter relay. The team of Jennifer Miller, freshman Sarah Dekker (Milwaukee, Wis.), sophomore Alden Goucher (Port Charlotte, Fla.) and senior Morgan Marnholtz (Merrill, Wis.) finished at 4:17.51.

Morgan Marnholtz clocked in at 1:03.05 in the 400-meter dash in eighth place.

Sophomore Sophia Fonte (Greendale, Wis.) crossed the finish line at 1:25.17 in the 400-meter hurdles in eighth place.

Freshman Hannah Secor (Marengo, Ill.) finished in 15th place finish in the 1500-meter run at 5:34.20.

Individuals will compete next at the North Central Dr. Keeler Invitational on May 9.
