Women’s Track & Field wraps up Wisconsin Private College Championships

BELOIT, Wis. – The CUW women's track & field team competed at the Wisconsin Private College Championships on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons finished in fifth place out of nine teams with 75.33 points. St. Norbert won with 255.33 points.

Junior Nicole Veldhorst (Cedar Grove, Wis.) finished tied for second place in the high jump at 1.50 meters. She also notched a fifth-place finish in the triple jump at 10.55 meters.

Sophomore Megan Curran (Spring Grove, Ill.) launched the shot put to 12.15 meters for a second-place finish.

The Falcons finished in third place in the 4x100 meter relay. The team of senior Jennifer Miller (Freedom Wis.), freshman Ndeye Thiam (Grayslake Ill.), senior Irene Bolis (Marengo, Ill.) and sophomore Megan Sprinkman (Kohler, Wis.) finished clocked in at 51.59.

Jennifer Miller finished the day at the pole vault in fourth place at 3.00 meters.

Senior Chloe Eckstein (Reedsville, Wis.) had a successful day in the cage with a second-place finish in the discus throw at 39.62 meters. She also led the Falcons in the hammer throw in fourth place at 41.02 meters and a ninth-place finish in the javelin throw at 28.90 meters.

In the 400-meter dash, senior Morgan Marnholtz (Merrill, Wis.) finished in fifth place at 1:03.61.

Irene Bolis posted a time of 16.66 in the 100-meter hurdle in fifth place. She also finished in sixth place in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:14.32.

In the 100-meter dash, Megan Sprinkman clocked in a time of 13.83 for an eighth-place finish.

In ninth place, junior Kathryn Schultz (Fredonia, Wis.) recorded a mark of 4.26 meters at the long jump pit.

Freshman Hannah Secor (Marengo, Ill.) finished the 800-meter run in 11th place at 2:41.77.

Ndeye Thiam clocked in a time of 28.53 in the 200-meter dash in 13th place.

Sophomore LaNea Bartel (Kewaunee, Wis.) crossed the finish line at 5:40.88 in the 1500-meter run in 16th place.

The Falcons return to action on Friday at the Benedictine Relays.
