KOHLER, Wis. – The CUW women's tennis team took on the Green Knights of St. Norbert and the Warriors of Wisconsin Lutheran on Sunday at the Sports Core complex. The Falcons swept both teams to improve to 4-2 on the year and remain unblemished in the NACC at 4-0.
Sophomore Cheyanne Phillips (Morris, Ill.) and sophomore Mya Werning (Watertown, Wis.) made quick work of the Green Knights with an 8-0 victory at No. 3 doubles.
Senior Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) and junior Ashley Samuta (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) swept away SNC with an 8-0 victory.
After a slow start, the team of senior Mia Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis.) and junior Mallory Moen (Neenah, Wis.) pulled away with an 8-4 victory.
Ashley Samuta sprinted past Emma Merrill at No. 2 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Sophomore Peyton Morgan (Arlington Heights, Ill.) pounced on Olivia MacGillis at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-2.
Ricki Budewitz swept Hannah Starr at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-0.
Mia Andrae grounded Grace McCune at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-2.
Mallory Moen brought out the brooms on court three with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Megan Pankow.
Cheyanne Phillips closed the book on SNC with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Grace Peters at No. 4 singles.
After a quick break, the Falcons took on the Warriors of Wisconsin Lutheran.
The No. 1 doubles team of Ashley Samuta and Ricki Budewitz was the first team off the court with an 8-2 victory.
Mia Andrae and Mallory Moen quickly followed suit and won on court two, 8-2.
Cheyanne Phillips and Mya Werning whipped away the Warriors at No. 3 doubles, 8-5.
Ricki Budewitz blasted Katelynn Haskell at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-2.
At No. 2 singles, Ashley Samuta smashed Jena Smith, 6-0, 6-3.
Mallory Moen rallied to defeat Izzy Hawley at No. 3 singles, 4-6, 6-2, 10-5.
Cheyanne Phillips folded Ali Schmidt at No. 4 singles, 7-5, 6-3.
Mia Andrae axed Pope Sky at No. 5 singles, 6-2, 6-1.
At No. 6 singles, Peyton Morgan made quick work of Alex Sturm with a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
The Falcons will rest up after a busy weekend and return to action on Sunday in a battle of unbeaten NACC teams at Edgewood.
