Royals Rally to Sink CUW

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Concordia Wisconsin women's tennis team fought hard in their second match of the week in South Carolina. The Royals of Bethel ruined the day with a 5-4 victory to send the Falcons to 12-4.

Junior Mallory Moen (Neenah, Wis.) and senior Mia Andrae (Cedarburg, Wis.) opened the day with an 8-6 victory at No. 3 doubles.

Senior Ricki Budewitz (Watertown, Wis.) and junior Ashley Samuta (Glen Ellyn, Ill.) secured a 12-10 victory in the tiebreaker on court one to win, 8-7.

Ricki Budewitz downed Lauryn Douglas at No. 1 singles, 7-6, 6-3.

Sophomore Cheyanne Phillips (Morris, Ill.) topped Emma Thole at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-4.

The birds look to bounce back on Wednesday against Asbury.
