Klumpp's career day leads Women's Soccer past Dominican

MEQUON, Wis. – Freshman Brittany Klumpp (Rubicon, Wis.) has speed and it was on full display during Saturday's Northern Athletics Conference match. The freshman forward tallied a career-best four goals, three in the opening half, as Concordia University Wisconsin routed Dominican University 6-1 at Fitting Field.

With the victory the Falcons (13-4-0 overall)  locked up the third seed in the NAC Tournament and will host the undetermined sixth seed on Saturday at Fitting Field. It will be the fourth time CUW will host an opening round postseason game since joining the league.

Klumpp's opening unassisted tally came less than 10 minutes in the contest.  Then she found the back of the net less than six minutes later (15:45) to give the Falcons a 2-0 lead. Prior to the horn sounding for halftime CUW tallied three more goals in an eight-minute span to put the game out of reach.  .

Senior Kelly Bolli (Eagle, Wis.) tallied on a Alyssa Ciesielczyk (senior, Waukesha, Wis.) pass at 32:37 before Straehler scored off a Gabrielle Ulik (freshman, West Allis, Wis.) feed at 36:52. Klumpp gave the Falcons an insurmountable 5-0 lead after she punched a Straehler feed past the Star's goalie.

It didn't take long in the second half before Klumpp (via Straehler) pushed the scored to 6-0. It was the eighth time a Falcon has scored four goals in a game since CUW joined the NAC in 2006

DU scored its lone goal at 86:10 on a Jen Russ unassisted tally. CUW ended the contest with a 24-9 shot advantage, including 16-4 shots on goal advantage.

The Falcons return to action on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Wisconsin Lutheran College. The match is a rescheduled event after the teams were rained out a week ago.
