Falcon women shut out Concordia Chicago soccer

MEQUON, Wis.-  Concordia Wisconsin remained undefeated and unscored upon in NAC play with a 4-0 win over visiting CU- Chicago Saturday afternoon at Fitting Field.

Ryan Middendorf's Falcons led just 1-0 at the break via a successful penalty kick by senior Lauren Straeher (Pewaukee, Wis.) 33:00 minutes into the match, but blotted out any ray of visitor hope midway through the second half.

"Hats off to the Cougars," said CUW coach Ryan Middendorf.  "They were organized and defended well.  It took us a significant amount of time to establish control."

Freshman Carley Pfannerstill (Grafton, Wis.) fed Straehler for her second score at the sixty minute mark and freshman Jaclyn Theune (Oostburg, Wis.) fed senior Alyssa Ciesielczyk (Waukesha, Wis.) for a third tally just eight minutes later.

Ciesielczyk added a goal of her own courtesy of Pfannerstill's assist to complete the scoring.

CUW travels to UW-Whitewater for a 7:00pm non conference matchup on Monday.
