MILWAUKEE, Wis.- A slow, muddy field notwithstanding, Concordia Wisconsin was still able to sprint past Wisconsin Lutheran 5-1 this afternoon to finish the NAC regular season with a 10-2-0 record.
It took just four minutes of playing time before senior Lauren Straehler (Pewaukee, Wis.) connected off a Carley Pfannerstill (Fr./ Grafton, Wis.) pass to give the Falcons a 1-0 lead. Pfannerstill followed with a score of her own eight minutes later and Ryan Middendorf's team was off to the races.
Brittany Klumpp (Fr./ Hartford, Wis.) Anna Hirssig (Fr./ Rochester, Minn.) and Emily Ciesielczyk (So./ Waukesha, Wis.) each found the back of the net during the one-sided affair as CUW outshot WLC 29-3.
The Warriors only actual shot on goal provided them with their lone score as they fell to 8-8-3 on the season and 5-6-1 in conference play.
CUW (14-4-0 overall) will open NAC Tournament play next week as the #3 seed.
