Falcon Soccer women race past Lake Forest 5-0 in opener

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Concordia University Wisconsin Women's soccer program put an emphasis on speeding things up this season.  Friday night in Lake Forest provided the first opportunity to put that plan into practice.   By all accounts the Falcons executed that plan perfectly en route to a 5-0 rout of Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Illinois.

Just seven minutes into her collegiate soccer career Brittany Klumpp (Fr./ Rubicon, Wis.) put the Falcon's on the board after a feed from fellow freshmen Faith Palmreuter (Frankenmuth, Mich.). From that point forward, Concordia took control of every aspect of the game.
Four minutes after rookie Klumpp found the net, four year veteran Lauren Staehler (Pewaukee, Wis.) joined the party to double the lead.   As if scoring one goal in your first game isn't enough, Klumpp added another at 20:45 to give CUW a commanding 3-0 lead at the break.
The Falcon's speed was too much for the Forrester's all night long.  Lake Forrest did not register a shot on goal until the 63rd minute.  Goalie Samantha Anacker (Sr./ Janesville, Wis.) stopped both shots on goal as well as a handful of other opportunities including a series of four straight corner kicks in the 85th and 86th minutes.
Concordia tacked on two more insurance goals in the second half while peppering Lake Forrest's net-minder 15 more shots.  In total 18 of their 29 shots made their way to the net and 5 found the mesh.
