Katelyn Cardinale Claims NACC Weekly Honor
MEQUON, Wis. – The Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) announced its Student-Athlete of the Week awards on Tuesday morning for women's lacrosse. Katelyn Cardinale was voted the NACC Student-Athlete of the Week for Offense by the league's athletic communications professionals.
A sophomore from Mount Laurel, New Jersey, Katelyn Cardinale is claiming the honor for the first time this season and for the second time in her career.
The New Jersey native started the week scoring the lone goal for the Falcons against No.2-ranked SCAD of NAIA. Cardinale also won five draw controls and picked up two ground balls against the Bees.
She followed that up with a program-record of 11 goals at Augustana, caused two turnovers for the Vikings and finished with nine ground balls.
This is the second-straight week a Falcon has claimed an NACC honor with senior Eliana Fuchs claiming the defensive honor last week for her performance against Northwestern.
Alexis Crowley of Aurora was named the NACC Defensive Player of the Week.
Cardinale and the Falcons return to action on Wednesday against Carthage.
